The do-wins are standard for the scene typically, good shoe, and have the highest heel of those listed.

I don't like the design of the Adistar weightlift.

I got these for $80 and have no qualms

It depends on what you want really, a higher heel will mask things like poor ankle mobility.

I like the size of my heel, lol, helps me hit depth easier.

Whatever heel size you end up going with, the stable platform the shoes create is awesome compared to everything else. I was able to go to a local VS store and try the dynamos on before purchase, I advise the same.

Chucks high tops is how I roll.

Chucks low tops for everything else. Paying for a particular weightlifting shoe is unless they're cheaper than chucks.

edit: lastly all those have heels....

General consensus is that raw squatters, that don't utilize a super wide stance out of a monolift, like weight lifting shoes over chucks/flat soled shoes.

Plus people like to do, uhhhh, Olympic lifts?...

I have Wei-Rui's, I bought them from a Crossfit website (the horror!). I guess some crossfit guy had designed what he wanted, and had them made in China. I have horrific ankle mobility, and I would prefer a higher heel, but I am very happy with them other than that. Usually you have to buy these a size small, at least the Wei Rui's.

I don't use a super wide stance either, just a cunt hair wider than shoulder width. Shoes with heels increases torque on your back, can cause faciitis, raises CG, and weakens ascention via the hams.... And this is just with back squats; front squats is a lot worse.

Yeah I don't have an issue with ankle flexibility so I may avoid really high heels...

I don't wear a large heel, so gonna stick with my Dynamos and as long as I squat more in them than my Asics, I'll keep wearing them.

Also, links? Never once heard of any of those claims before.

Again, heeled shoes, for olympic lifts and olympic style squatting, will of course change hammy activation due to the lift being a quad dominant lift in the first place...

They are becoming more popular in the PL community. At the meet I did a month and a half ago, practically 95% of everyone had Chucks on, the other 5% had Oly shoes on. I was approached all day by raw lifters asking me about them, and I think I converted more than one. Rob, an easy way to tell if you want a slight heel is to toss a plate under the back of a flat shoe, squat down, and see if the back of your foot being raised makes it easier to reach depth (it will). If you aren't going to go really deep on lifts there really isn't any point. Most powerlifters don't wear them because of the super wide stances, with the angle of the foot there isn't much use for the heel.

I have these but actually prefer squatting in my nike shocks because of the heel lift. Of course they are unstable as shit.

Heel lift helps with longer femurs imo.

I believe all your boys at EFS and some other derps were saying this. You can find all this info through google, but simple physics can explain the torque and ascention issues.
I believe these shoes will only help if you have VERY short and/or tight hamstrings

Actually simple physics would say a heel lift reduces back "torque". IMO and from everything I have ever read.

How? If you're saying that torque is decreased because your hips are higher elevated off the floor, I believe you're wrong; that doesn't change the displacement vector as leg length remains constant. However, raising of the hips and positioning them in a cogged angle (shoes with heels or plates under heels) increases the angle of the force vector and angular momentum thus increasing the torque since the force would be constant between squatting in heels vs. barefoot. Total work will increase due to the total distance travelled being increased, provided of course you go to the same depth in a barefoot squat vs. a shoes-with-heels squat.

No nothing to do with the hips and i agree with your latest post. But it's said to be easier on the spine because heel lift compensates for additional forward lean which for some would be required in a traditional shoe or wider stance near the bottom of the squat.

Beej, you keep posting about the cons to raised heel shoes, in what context?...

OP wants to do olympic lifts, OP wants weightlifting shoes.
