    TrueProtein's Lean Beef Aminos

True Nutrition | Lean Beef Aminos

What do you guys think of this?

I have been using it for a while now as my only protein source besides for regular food and I feel like it is sufficient.

I no longer use a whey protein powder and get all my protein from chicken, fish, beef, eggs, and these LBAs.

My concern is though that I have no idea how this stuff is made or where it comes from. I read on promuscle that apparently it is cow fetus blood or something lol but not sure how accurate that is.

IS this stuff really legit or am I just getting a placebo effect from it? Do any of you take it?

edit: I kinda want to get it tested to see what's really in it, but I have no idea where to send it or how to go about doing this. Do you guys have any idea or would any of you want to volunteer to do this?

what difference does it make where it comes from ? srs.
if it works, that's what matters.

I'm worried if I'm putting something in my body that may have long term negative effects or even if there are some negative effects taking place that may may not be noticeable. I was a little weirded out that I'm drinking cow fetus blood - it just doesn't sound normal.. and I wonder if it is produced in sanitary conditions etc. And is cow fetus blood even good/bad for you? I don't know. Basically - I'm concerned about more than the gains right now

i hear you on the concern about negative effects....

but weirded out by a protein source, idk.

should we stop eating eggs ? an egg is an unborn chicken fetus too, bro.

lol what i'm saying is i'd focus on the 1st part of the question not the 2nd part because this way of thinking will leave us nothing to eat !

It's made from dried cow blood. Seriously. A client asked me to develop a product using it (but it never went to market).

They take the blood plasma that's collected at slaughter houses, and then filter the protein out and dry it out as a powder.

It's pretty disgusting (at least I think it is), but it is essentially just another protein source and is manufactured under USDA sanitary guidelines (as long as its US sourced).

they also have chicken plasma-protein available. the thing is, there are a bunch of different grades of the beef plasma protein (sorta like WPC34, WPC80, WPI90, etc). There's a huge difference in quality b/w the different grades (transparency of taste, protein % content, "other" % content, etc) & huge price differential b/w the grades. It might be something to consider.

God damn this just grossed me out and I was about to take some right now. You say that the protein is filtered out and dried as powder, but this stuff these LBA's that I have are all just liquid syrup -- it essentially looks, tastes, and feels like hershey's chocolate syrup. So now it feels like I'm just drinking cow blood with food coloring lol... fuk

Thanks for the info, I want to look in to this and the stuff that I'm using to see if it's high grade -- Based on the reviews that I've read of it and people claiming good results I'm assuming it's a higher grade because of it's supposed high bioavailability.

I don't see a bulk protein supplier is in business given the regulatory environment. There is no possible way to do a custom mix and even come close to compliance.

So are you saying that this company is most likely not compliant with manufacturing regulations?

Who cares about cow blood ?
Only thing that matters if it's some quality shit (no contaminants), and if it gives results.

Actually, pork blood is really tasty

The only difference TP's LBA's will make is from the glycerol.

Anyone that understands the new laws knows there is NO way to be compliant and do custom 1 off blends, period. Email and ask them if they are compliant. Ask if they put an expiration date on it. They'd need stability testing to do that, which is impossible when all the different variations. They'd need retention samples on each incase of a recall, etc, etc, etc.

I'm just grossed out by it for some reason - just going to try not to think about it.

I see - I might actually go ahead and email them asking these questions.

Beware what you ask. Seriously. Guy is worse than ross. And he 'recommends' you to drink 50g as a meal, something like 3-6 times a day.

    stupiderest than ross/10

I dont think adding glycerol to protein and calling it "super awesome protein because it gives me mad pumps, fullness, and vascularity" is very impressive.

I could throw arginine in my whey and say "man this is the most badass preworkout whey ever! but in the end, it's just the arginine and plain ass macronutrient protein.

BOTTOM LINE: If a protein does ANYTHING other than add a macronutrient to your diet, its not just protein. So dont credit protein with something protein didnt do. Just add some damn glycerol to your whey if you want the same effect at a lower price.
