L-Theanine for mood

    L-Theanine for mood

    have you tried l-theanine for improving mood ?

    how much did u take ?

    what are your thoughts on it ?

    looking at 5-htp, it seems that it would make one sleepy.

    would l-theanine improve mood while avoiding the sleepiness ? would this also be possible with a small dose of 5-htp ?

    Meh. ive tried it prebed and wasn't completely impressed. I personally prefer GABA/phenibut for mood

    i tried gaba before, didn't do much for me. like i said, i'm looking for something that doesn't make me sleepy.
    would coupling 50-100mg 5-htp with some form of caffeine do the trick ?

    GABA never made me sleepy... it just helps me hit deep REM. At least, that's the way I feel in the morn.

    If you're looking for a mood, dump your bish, fap more, fap less, do some drugs, pull the string, etc. I seriously doubt supps help with "mood" per se.

    I've used the NOW suntheanine & it didn't provide any noticeable FX. Maybe it'll work for you, I don't know. The NOW stuff is fairly cheap so it may be worth a shot.

    L-theanine, SAMe, ashwaghanda, rhodiola are all supposed to create a positive mood effect. They don't do much on their own if you're functioning normally. However, if you're under the weather and stressed out, I've noticed that their benefits are significantly more pronounced.

    What kind of mood FX are you looking for? Something to make you feel 'high'? Or just relieve stress?

    it didn't make me sleepy per se, but having to take it at bed time, then the tingles & shortness of breath...not worth what u get out of it imo

    thanks for the input; i do like NOW products in general, so if i'm gonna try something new, i usually go look if they make it.

    not looking for a high, more of a stress relieve, stay calm/cool..

    You can do picamilon 5 days on/ 2 off.

    Pheinut is the one I'd use sparingly, but it works so well.

    Taking too much. I'm guessing you're at roughly 5g? Drop it back to 3.

    nope, back when i tried it, i had 750mg caps:
    1 didn't do much of anything, 2 just some tingles & not much else, 3 noticeable tingles & shortness of breath
    i think taking it on an empty stomach made these effects more pronounced as well

    i love my coffee way too much to even try that

    i ended up getting some primaforce PEA & 5HTP that i will be stacking for the desired effect, maybe washed down with a cup of coffee or two.

    if that shit doesn't do the trick, i'll write a review bashing the shit out of the aformentioned products, u mad smartpowders, u maaaaadd ???

    Damn... strange. At 5g with food, I notice that. But 3ish, I don't notice any. I guess I handle gaba fine, but am extremely uber sensitive to melatonin.

    lol u know what's even more strange ?
    one time i tried a sample or two of prolabs' sleep formula called REM which had 3mg melatonin & some valerian root, slept good, woke up refreshed & gtg.
    on the other hand, first 2-3 times i took a full dose of ZMA i slept through my alarm, i lowered dose to 2 caps & i could wake up on time but kinda groggy & slow to start. mind you the sleep quality was ok, but not worth how i felt in the morning.

    I never had any noticeable effects from L-Theanine. Phenibut has noticeable effects, but I don't like the fact I can't use consistenty. Picamilon was a VERY subtle effect for me, but I believe it took the edge off. PEA really increases my mood, but I'm also much more energetic so I'm not sure if that will be ideal for you. I don't know much about 5-HTP, we'll see how that works for you (especially stacked with PEA)

    i actually wouldn't mind feeling more energetic from the PEA, as long as it doesn't raise bp or cause a headache..will report on the combo when i try it.
